Journey of the Red Rider 05/11/09

Today is the start of my training for the 2012 Race Across AMerica (RAAM). Today I start my training program under the remote training under Dr. Matt Corcoran of The Diabetes Training Camp. From today until I finish the RAAM in 2012 I will blog the days happenings and my meals, my exercise and my blood sugar readings. I hope this record will help others with diabetes see that there is a way to live active normal lives with diabetes.

This week Dr. Corcoran wanted me to check my blood sugar before breakfast and two hours after breakfast. He also wanted me to check my blood sugar 30 minutes before I ride and then 10 minutes before I ride and then test halfway through the ride and then 10 minutes after I ride. Fore now my riding will be on the trainer indoors.
